Effect of immunoglobulin on autologous blood transfusion in patients with colorectal cancer

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effect of the isovolumic hemodilution autologous blood transfusion(ANH) and allogeneic blood transfusion on perioperative immunoglobulin in the patients with colorectal cancer.Method:Selected patients with radical resection of intestinal tumors in 30 cases were randomly divided into two groups.ANH(group Ⅰ):after anesthesia and before surgical incision 400ml blood was removed in radial artery,while a considerable capacity of hydroxyethyl starch was intravenous infused,half stage after surgery autologous blood transfusion was done.Allogeneic blood transfusion group(group Ⅱ):According to the intraoperative situation,2 to 3 units of allogeneic red cell suspensions were transfused.In the preoperative and postoperative day 1,5 days,venous blood was extracted to detect immunoglobulin content by single radial immunodiffusion assay.Result:1 day after operation,IgA,lgG,IgM of two groups both reduced.On postoperative day 5 the measured values of group I returned to normal levels,while group II were still low.IgM of two groups did not change significantly.Conclusion:Effect of autologous blood transfusion on immunoglobulin of patients with colorectal cancer was smaller,and while homologous blood transfusion was obvious.Autologous blood transfusion in perioperation period had more obvious advantages than allogeneic blood transfusion.
