The allegorical poems of Bai Ju-yi inherited the realist poem inditing tradition since the Book of Songs. It gained great achievement in the aspects of ideological content and artistic quality and became the powerful tool to reflect reality and criticize abuse. His poems played an important role in the middle Tang Dynasty.
