Detection of serum interleukin-3 level and its clinical significance in aplastic anemia patiens.

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of serum interleukin 3(IL 3)detection in aplastic anemia(AA)patients Methods Serum level of IL 3 in 50 patients with AA detected by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) Results The levels of serum IL 3 in 18 out of 50 AA patients were higher than that of control( P0 01 ),including 8 severe AA(SAA) patients and 10 chronic AA(CAA) cases Numbers of CFU GM were lower in the AA patients whose IL 3 levels were higher( P0 05 ) There was no statistical signiicance in treatment efficacy between the patients whose serum IL 3 levels were above normal and those of normal( P0 05) The level of serum IL 3 decreased significantly after achiered curative outcomes in the patients whose IL 3 levels were higher( P0 05 ) Conclusion Detection of serum IL 3 in AA patients is helpful for judging the severity of disease and providing information of therapy
