Abstract

The wheat samples were sprayed during its vegetative and productive stages by simulated acid rain-with pHvalues of 2.0,3.0,4.0,5.0 and 6.0.The results indicated that visible injures emerged when pHvalues were below3.0(threshold value),chlorophyll(Chl) content reduced, malondialdehyde(MDA) con-tent increased, catalase(CAT) activity and peroxidase(POD) activity was suppressed.Stress effects of simu-lated acid rain on wheat increased more remarkable with the increase of density of hydrogen ions in acid rain.Itwas correlated with disposal times and doses.
