Application and Nursing of Femoral Vein Catheterization in Patients with Cerebrovascular Disease

A retrospective summerization of the application of femoral vein catheterization in the patients with cerebrovascular diseases.Femoral vein catheterization was applied successfully in our 46 cases,in which 40 cases were complication-free(86.9%).The complications in the other six cases were catheter shift (1/46),catheter obstruction(1/46),hematoma(1/46),puncture point infection(1/46),deep vein thrombosis(2/46);The catheter-indwelling time ranged from 13 to 54 days, on average of 35 days.No infection or bleeding was detected after removal of catheter. The puncture point lesion healed well and catheter tips bacterial culture proved negative. Patient selection?pre-operation and post-operation nursing management and dealing with complications in time are essential to its application.
