Abstract
For selected 100 ML≥3.0 earthquake events recorded from March 2001(the time that Shanxi Digital Seismic Network began formally running) to December 2007,the deviations between single station magnitudes and average ones are calculated. It shows that the magnitude deviations of Zhenchuan,Kelan and Shanzizao stations are relatively larger, compared with average one of the Network,so if enough other stations are available for magnitude determination in a rapid earthquake reporting, these three stations should be excluded. The deviation of calibration function is larger when epicenter is shorter than 40 km or farther than 240 km,so that in large earthquake rapid reporting,it is thought to use the data of stations of epicenter distances within 40 km-240 km to calculate magnitude directly is a simple, convenient and feasible way.
