Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of ER,PR,PCNA and C-CrbB-2 in uterine leiomyoma and its relationship with the growth of uterine leiomyoma.Method The positive rate of expression of ER,PR,PCNA and C-CrbB-2 in 50 cases of uterine leiomyoma was measured with immunochemistric method. The patients were divided into several groups according to the course of disease, symptom, diameter and number of uterine leiomyoma, menstrual cycle(proliferative phase and secretory phase). Results There were significant statistical differences between the positive rate of ER and PR expression and the diameter of uterine leiomyoma. The positive rate of ER expression in uterine leiomyoma during the proliferative phase was higher than that during the secretory phase(P0.05).The positive rate of PCNA and C-CrbB-2 expression was not associated with uterine leiomyoma. Conclusions The growth of uterine leiomyoma is closely related to the contents of ER and PR,but hardly related to the division and proliferation of cells, and not related to the expression of oncogene.
