Abstract

Ontology is the foundation of the next Web:Semantic Web,and OWL is defined by W3C for describing ontology.Web is now enormous and growing at a staggering rate.The important thing is how to quickly get the required information,the ontology-based semantic model is a rational standard for the representation,exchange and processing of the information on the Internet.So it is possible to have a complete access to available information.This paper elaborates the concept of ontology,the method of ontology-based semantic modeling and the semantic support of ontology in OWL.Eventually an instance is given with the OWL language.
