Expression of nm23 and Its Significance in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Abstract

Purpose To inwestigate the expression of nm23 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods Immunohistochemistry staining SP was used to detect the expression level of nm23 in 74 cases with ESCC and 22 with normal esophageal mucous(NEM).Subsequently the relationship between post-operative pathological features and expression of nm23 was analyzed.Results The expression of nm23 in ESCC was obviously lower than that in normal esophageal(P0.05).The expression of nm23 had significant relationship with degree of differentiation and lymph mode metastasis(P0.05),while less associated with age,gender,and tumors invading depth(P0.05).Conclusions The decreased expression of nm23 could be closely correlated with the occurrence of esophageal cancer,which could be taken as an evaluation index of esophageal cancer.
