Clinical Control Study on Photoimpact Acupoint Stimulation for Diabetic Neuropathy

Objective: To compare the therapeutic effect on diabetic neuropathy(DN) between photoimpact acupoint stimulation and western medicines(improving circulation and trophic nerve),and to study the mechanism of photoimpact acupoint stimulation.Methods:Ninety-five cases of DN were randomly divided into three groups,32 cases of photoimpact acupoint stimulation,32 cases of western medicines,and 31cases of combined treatments.The therapeutic effects,nerve conduction velocity,blood rheologic index and blood sugar were observed in the three groups.Results:(1)the therapeutic effect of combined group was best in the three groups(P0.05);(2)nerve conduction velocity was increased in the two single treatment groups(P0.05),but there was no statistical difference between two groups(P0.05);among the three groups there was no difference in the blood rheologic indexs before and after treatment(P0.05);blood sugar level was significantly decreased after treatment in the three groups(P0.05),but there was no statistical difference among the three groups(P0.05).Conclusion:Photoimpact acupoint stimulation could significantly improve the clinical symptoms of DN,increase conduction velocity of injured nerve,western medicine has the similar effects,however,their combination is the best.photoimpact acupoint stimulation is an effective therapeutic tool to DN and avoids the disadvantages of acupuncture therapy such as disparation intensity of handwork stimulation,pains and slowly wounds healing of skin.
