Abstract

On September,2003,October,2005 and July,2010,larger flood of 20 years frequency occurred in the middle and lower area of Hanjiang River,which caused dangers in the main levee of the Hanjiang River.In order to research the flood control countermeasures,the analysis on flood characteristics of the Hanjiang River,the flood control structure system and capacity in the middle and lower Hanjiang River are conducted.The preliminary analysis shows that the regulation of Danjiangkou Reservoir is complicated,flood control standard of main levee of the Hanjiang River is low,Dujiatai flood diversion works is not finished and the construction of flood storage polders still lag behind.The flood disaster of the Hanjiang River can be eliminated basically,only when Danjiangkou Reservoir and Dujiatai flood diversion works are completed in designed final scale,the main levee of Hanjiang River is heightened and reinforced,and flood storage polders are constructed meeting requirement.
