An Evaluation Study of Regional Science and Technology Innovation Capacity

Regional science and technology innovation capacity determines the regional economic developing situation and people’s living standard.Therefore,the evaluation study of regional science and technology innovation capacity is of vital importance.The paper builds the regional technology innovation ability evaluation index system which covers twenty-five indexes from such four levels as scientific research ability,technological innovation ability,knowledge and technology flow and scientific and technological innovation environment.The paper also bulids the evaluation model to measure the comprehensive scores of the regional science and technology innovation capacity by extracting technological innovation environment factor,technological innovation ability factor,scientific research and service factor,knowledge and technology flow factor and enterprise technology factor.Accordingly,the paper evaluates the regional science and technology innovation capacity of thirty provinces and municipalities in China.The results reflect the unbalance of the regional science and technology innovation capacity in different regions.What’s more,we find that the regional technology innovation ability in eastern region is significantly stronger than that in the western and central region.
