Abstract
In this paper,k-e turbulence model was used to close Reynods equations, volume of fluid(VOF) method was used to track the free water surface, drainage process of siphon well and outfall of Nandipur Power Plant was simulated in the method of three-dimensional numerical simulation. The calculated results show good agreement with the model experimental results, which indicates the feasibility of three-dimensional numerical simulation on siphon well and outfall. Moreover,it is demonstrated further by using 3-D numerical simulation that the discharge overflow from the weir and velocity distribution after the weir are more uniform and symmetrical and the labyrinth weir is a relative ideal weir,by using the labyrinth weir instead of the fold-type weir used in the original design, which leading to inclination to the side of the overflow weir discharge of siphon well and uneven distribution of velocity.
