On the topic connexity of discourse coherence

Abstract
Topic has the macro dominant control over the cohesion and coherence of discourse, for unity is the premise of discourse coherence. This paper intends to discuss the relation between unity and discourse coherence in terms of a discourse or a paragraph from the perspective of thematic progression, lexical cohesion and conjunction.
