Performance Comparison between Warm Mix Asphalt and Hot Mix Asphalt

Abstract

Warm mix asphalt(WMA) is a kind of innovative pavement material of which the mixing temperature is between hot mix asphalt(HMA) and cold mix asphalt and the performance of which is close to HMA.The paper compared the performance of Evotherm warm mix asphalt of dense gradation with hot mix asphalt of the same gradation in all aspects,including water stability,high-temperature performance,low-temperature performance,fatigue properties and shearing properties.It is shown that the performance of WMA meets the requirement of traditional HMA and the fatigue properties are better than HMA of the same gradation.
