Some Meditations about the Combination of Socialism with Market Economy

There are a lot of discussions in the academic circle about whether socialism can be combined with market economy and how they can be combined.Deng Xiaoping proposed that market economy is a means of developing production and regulating economy,which can be adopted by both capitalism and socialism.This freed people's idea from the view that market economy equals capitalism and laid a theoretical foundation for the construction of socialist market economic system.When we talk about the differences between socialist market economy and capitalist market economy,we often just point out the differences between socialist system and capitalist system but fail to point out the differences between the market economy under socialist condition and the market economy under capitalist condition.It seems that market economy is the same in any social systems without differences.The author holds that the concrete realizing forms of socialist basic system and market economic system change in the course of their combination,and therefore they penetrate each other,affect each other and merge with each other into a whole.Socialist system and market economic system both make some adjustments in their concrete realizing forms in order to meet the need of each other under the condition of sticking to their own basic features.Only in this way can socialist market economic system be formed as an organic whole.
