Abstract
It is easy to adjust the geometric models of different products which have similar structures by using structure parametric design method. By using this method, the FEA model can he easily created by adjusting several geometric parameters and the analyzing process of FEA is automatically executed. The efficiency is improved and the time for products design will be shortened greatly. Further more. By using the ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL), the FEA process including creating FEA model and analysis steps are discussed. A practical parametric FEA model of a thread is established and stress analysis is done by using this method. The results show that this method overcomes a lot of repeated FEA tasks and improves efficiency of products structure analyzing.
