Abstract

Objective:To observe the effect of Simvastatin on levels of blood lipid and serum C-reactive protein (CRP) in patients with cerebral infarction (CI).Methods:100 CI patients with high blood lipid happened in 7 days were randomly divided into Simvastatin group and control group. At the basic of low fit diet and Aspirin for the two groups,Simvastatin was taken with 20 mg once every night for 2 months. Then the changes of the levels of CRP and blood lipid were observed after treated for 2 weeks and 2 months.Results:2 weeks and 2 months later, compared with pro-treatment and control group, the levels of serum CRP,total cholesterol (CH),triacylglycerol (TG) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) in the Simvastatin group were obviously reduced, the levels of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) was obviously higher (all P0.05).Conclusion:The level of blood lipid can decrease by taking Simvastatin for long-term in patients with high blood lipid, which is helpful to prevente the recurrence of stroke.
