Abstract
As one of the most helpful biomedical materials hydroxyapatite artificial bone has been studied and applied widely in biomedical materials and medical research.Due to their biocompatibility and suitable mechanical properties,hydroxyapatite/chitosan composites have become the highlighted issue of the biomaterials for bone repairing.In this paper,the recent applications and developments of the composites are reviewed,the characteristics,preparations and properties of the composites are discussed as wel1.Additionally,the study and prospects of composite materials are presented.
