Abstract
By coupling VOF method and standard k-e turbulence model, the three-dimensional flow field in a parabolic thin-plate weir for U-shaped channel flow measurement was simulated. The water-surface line and velocity distribution were obtained under different discharge conditions in different weirs.Comparing the results of simulation, experiment and formula calculation, the research showed that, they were similar to each other. And it has done the discussion to the flow formulas application, this can provide the reference to improve the estimation precision of weirs, and provide a new way for structure design and parameter optimization of flow-measuring flume.
