Abstract
The RNG k-e turbulence model and VOF model are used to simulate the 3D turbulence flow of the semi-cylinder measuring-flume with two contraction ratios, namely 0.49 and 0.67,in rectangular canal and track the free surface. The numerical simulation results, including velocity distribution pattern, water surface profile, and flow rate etc,are compared with measured value and formula calculation result. The results show that the above data coincide well. This proves that the selected turbulence model in this paper is reasonable and reliable. The research result supply a new way for the structure design and parameter optimization of semi-cylinder measuring-flume.
