Abstract

This paper discusses how to interpret the motivation of Chinese characters in teaching Chinese as a second language.Based on the rules underlie Chinese characters' formation and the acquisition of second language teaching and learning,the paper concludes that the best method of character's motivation analysis is to apply the interpretations of traditional philology,and the interpretation of folk philology is also helpful.
