Abstract
Chinese characters are the greatest barrier for foreign students in their Chinese language learning.The most important issue to be researched in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language(TCFL) is to study how to improve the foreign students' efficiency in their learning of Chinese characters and how to make them progressing rapidly in Chinese learning by learning Chinese characters.The article,employing the theory of cognitive psychology,analyzes the achievements of Chinese character teaching made by Chinese teachers from the perspective of the methods and models of Chinese character teaching,error analysis of the strokes and sides of Chinese characters,and the computer-assisting teaching.
