Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and toxic or side effects of Yifei decoction combined with bronchial artery infusion in elderly patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer( NSCLC),as well as their effect on the quality of life( QOL) in patients. Methods: Sixty elderly patients with NSCLC were randomly divided into treatment group( n = 30) and control group( n = 30). The control group received bronchial artery infusion of gemcitabine and paclitaxel, while the treatment group received Yifei decoction in addition to the chemotherapy for the control group. Each course of treatment was 28 d in both groups. The treatment outcomes were compared after two courses of treatment. Results: There were significant differences in clinical symptom improvement,QOL,and toxic or side effects between the two groups( P 0. 05),but no significant difference in tumor outcome was found between the two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Yifei decoction combined with bronchial artery infusion of gemcitabine and paclitaxel can relieve clinical symptoms, improve QOL,and reduce toxic or side effects in elderly patients with advanced NSCLC.
