Abstract

The first interference of emperors' maternal relatives in the government affairs in China happened in the Qin State of the late Warring States Period,which is a political phenomenon appeared when feudal society developed into a certain period.There are five historical conditions for its formation: the transformation from aristocratic politics to centralized monarchy autocracy,the change of political concept and power value under monarchy autocracy,the conflicts between imperial power and the power of prime minister,the power struggle that the imperial family prevents their royal relatives of the same surname from usurping the throne,and the supplementary means to reduce the threat of civil service system to feudal autocracy system.
