Abstract

Magnetorheological fluid(MRF) is a new type of smart material.Under action of external magnetic field, fluid viscosity is greatly changed. This feature is applied to shock absorber of the tracked vehicle.Theoretical and experimental analysis shows that the damping provided by the vane MRF shock absorber can fully substitute the driven shock absorber, and the vane MRF shock absorber has better controllability and adaptability.
