Abstract
This paper discusses the preparation of cationic chitosan flocculants and its application for the waste water treatment of papermaking. Studies were focused on the effect of influencing the coagulation. The serviceable ratio of V (12.5% PAE)∶ V (15% CPAM)∶ V (2% chitosan)=1∶1∶5 with the light level crosslinking using formaldehyde, the obvious results of flocculation can be gotten. The chitosan modified flocculating are very effective to treat the waste water of papermaking. The suitable condition is like this: pH 3.0 ~ 7.0 , add amount 10 mg~15 mg. The bridge connecting action might be the mainly reason to form the hard flocculating system. Also the structure morphology was studied by the SEM method.
