Abstract
Through determination on maximum water-holding capacity of soil layer and litter in typical sites of 4 kinds of forest types in Qingshitan Reserve,data was analyzed by using SPSS software. It was found that the maximum moisture capacity of soil layers is Fagus longipetiolata forest land Schima superba forest land Cunninghamia lanceolata forest land Phyllostachys heterocycla forest land. The moisture capacity of litters in 4 kinds of forest types has extremely significant differences,the maximum is Fagus longipetiolata forest,the minimum is Phyllostachys heterocycla forest. Fagus longipetiolata forest has the best function of water conservation,Phyllostachys heterocycla forest is the worst.
