Abstract

Tao is the basic concept in both Chinese literary theory and Chinese philosophy.The theory of Tao from Chinese philosophy is therefore the ideological foundation for a clear interpretation of the Tao in Chinese literary theory.Tao in Chinese philosophy can be divided into two: Extraordinary Tao,and Ordinary Tao.Following the same line of reasoning,Tao in literary theory can also be classed into Extraordinary Tao and Ordinary Tao.The Tao in Chinese literary theory and philosophy mainly refers to unmentionable and unnamable Ordinary Tao in the ontological sense.There is also a deep relationship between Tao on the one hand and feeling and meaning on the other.
