On the Chronicle Development of the Ming Dynasty Based on Ming’s Essays

Abstract

The Ming Dynasty is an important period of the chronicle development of China.The close relationship between the essays and the chronicles in the Ming Dynasty reflects the achievement in Ming’s chronicle compiling.The emergence of the essays with engraved chronicles reveals the engraving characteristics of the Ming chronicles and the functional change of personal chronicles since the Yuan,the Song and the Ming Dynasties.The rich chronicle materials in Ming’s essays convey not only the precious chronicle information but also the formation of China chronicles in the Ming Dynasty.
