Abstract

Based on a speculation of the philosophical elements in traditional Chinese culture,this paper analyzes the unique aesthetic features and aesthetic tastes in Chinese painting and calligraphy.The speculative characteristics and homologous theory in painting and calligraphy derive from the unique cognitive mode in ancient Chinese understanding of objects and natural world,so our aesthetic images are totally different from that of the west.
