Abstract
In large-scale reliable multimedia multicast application,an effective protocol which could be used to discover and recover errors of transfer is necessary.Multimedia multicast application problems with allowable delay and high packet loss rate were discussed.And a new internet reliable multicast transport protocol based on a relay node concept(IRMTP) was proposed.The IRMTP protocol focusing on allowable delay provides quality of service(QoS) for multimedia.Relay nodes are placed along the multicast tree.Data recovery is done between relay nodes.The method that enable protocol relays to request retransmission immediately and reduce delay for packet transmission was proposed.A performance compare of the IRMTP with SRM(Scalable Reliable Multicast) was made.Simulation results show that the IRMTP has high delivery ratio and low end-to-end delay for packet transmission.
