Abstract
The melt grafting of maleic anhydride (MAH) onto linear low density polyethylene(LLDPE) was initiated by dicumyl peroxide(DCP) in a twin screw extruder.The IR spectra showed MAH was successfully grafted onto LLDPE backbone.The effects of initiator and maleic anhydride concentrations,rotating velocity and temperature on grafting reaction were investigated.Maleic anhydride-styrene multi-monomer melt grafting onto LLDPE was also discussed.The research result indicated that styrene could improve grafting degree remarkably when the initiator concentration was less.
