Study about Curative Effect of Yiqi Huatan Sanjie Decoction Combined with Chemotherapy in Treating Advanced Colorectal Cancer

Objective: To compare the clinical curative differences between Yiqi Huatan Sanjie Decoction combined with the chemotherapy and the single chemotherapy in treating advanced colorectal cancer. Methods: 60 patients with advanced colorectal cancer were divided into two groups randomly. Patients in combined group received the treatments which included Yiqi Huatan Sanjie Decoction and the chemotherapy. The chemotherapy group only received the chemotherapy. The clinical curative effect,progressive free survival( PFS),side effects and the quality of life in the two groups were compared after 3 cycles of the chemotherapy. Result: The combined group got a higher curative rate than the chemotherapy group,but there was no significant difference between the two groups( P 0. 05). The combined group got a longer PFS,which showed a significant difference contrast with the chemotherapy group( P 0. 05). The combined group also got a lower rate of the side effects induced by the chemotherapy,such as leucopenia and vomiting,and the differences were significant( P 0. 05). Each group got an obvious improvement in the quality of life after 3 cycles of the treatment( P 0. 05),and combined group had a much better improvement than the chemotherapy group( P 0. 05). Conclusion: The combination of Yiqi Huatan Sanjie Decoction and the chemotherapy can improve the patients' PFS and the quality of life,and also can relieve the side effect of the chemotherapy than the single chemotherapy group.
