Abstract

Objective: To observe histopathologic changes in cerebral regions related to dependence of rats in different morphine dependent time. Methods:Models of morphine depen- dent rats were established by back hypodermic injection in back locus coeruleus, periaqueductal gray matter, substantia nigra, lenticula, corpus amygdaloideun and hippocampus of morphine dependent rats were observed under optical microscope, and the results were compared with those of control group. Results :Six dependent related regions in dependent groups were as follow: nerve cell were *pyknosised or dropsied, nervous fibers swollen swelled, mitochon- dria were swollen and deformed, endoplasmic reticulums were dilated, polyribosomes were disaggregated, the number of axons and dentrites were increased; gliocytes and sub-mater lymphocytes and monocytes hyperplasia which became more apparent as dependent time pro- longed, and gliocyte tubers forming. Conclusion: With dependent time prolonging, histo- pathologic changes in cerebral regions related to dependence become more apparent. There is subtle relationship between gliocytes and morphine dependence.
