Abstract
Isolator is a key component of scramjet to complete dual-mode and mode transition. The phenomenon of supersonic flow in isolator duct has been of great interest for decades due to both the complexity in aerodynamics and its wide engineering application. In this paper, the flow fields within scramjet engine isolator has been simulated using the Fluent CFD code. The current version of this code employs k-e turbulence model, second order upwind interpolation scheme, coupled implicit method. The effect of back pressure and Mach number on isolator flow fields are also analyzed and discussed.
