Abstract

Objective To investigate the treatment efficiency of mechanical ventilation for respiratory failure caused by serious organophosphorus pesticide poisoning. Methods 32 cases with respiratory failure caused by serious organophosphorus pesticide poisoning were treated by mechanical ventilation combined with atropine and other routine medicines. Results 30 patients had survived with a success rate of 93.75%,and 2 died. There was statistical difference in the blood gas indexes before and after the mechanical ventilation treatment. Conclusions Mechanical Ventilation has a important value in the treatment of respiratory failure caused by serious organophosphorus pesticide poisoning.
