Abstract
Objective To compare the levels of serum soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) with soluble E-selectin (sE-selectin) and to discuss its role in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients.Methods We measured levels of serum sICAM-1 and sE-selectin among 145 CHD including 73 acute coronary syndrom (ACS) patients,72 stable coronary heart disease (SCHD) patients and 144 controls by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Serum sICAM-1 levels in group ACS (320.3±81.8)μg/L and in group SCHD (266.5±63.5)μg/L were significantly higher than those in controls(176.3±78.3)μg/L(P0.01),whereas in group ACS is higher than those in group SCHD(P0.05).Serum sE-selectin levels in group ACS (48.5±12.1)μg/L and in group SCHD (36.1 ±11.9)μg/Lwere significantly higher than those in controls (28.8±10.3)μg /L(P0.01),whereas in group ACS is higher than those in group SCHD(P0.05).Conclusion The levels of sICAM-1 and sE-selectin in CHD patients were significantly higher than controls and those in group ACS were significantly higher than in group SCHD.
