Distribution and Biogeographical Research of Butterfly Resource in Hunan

The category and distribution of butterfly resource in Hunan province was investigated.And quantity taxonomy was used in analysis of the geographical region of batterfly resource in Hunan,through calculating the proximity matrix and using cluster analysis.According to the result of cluster analysis,geographical features(elevation),climate,the over all of forests arrangement and agricultural plants,author suggested that the geographical region of butterfly resource in Hunan was divided into three regions:the lake,basin and hill region of northern,center-eastern Hunan,the hill and mountainous region of southern Hunan,the mountainous region of western Hunan.The characteristic of butterfly fauna of each region was also discussed in this paper.Finally,protection utilization methods of butterfly resource were also presented.
