Abstract

Objective:To investigate the application of tramadol and pethidine at equivalent does for postoperative patient-controlled analgesia.Methods:Sixty patients,scheduled for abdominal surgery were randomly divided into 2 groups,tramadol (T)and pethidine(P)groups.Twenty minutes before the operation was over,a bolus of tramadol 50 mg and droperidol 2.5 mg were given to T group,likewise a equivalent does of pethidine 25 mg and droperidol 2.5 mg were administrated to P group.Both groups were equipped Guang Da electronic patient-controlled analgesia pump when they were sent to wards.To observer the analgesic effects and side effects during the next 48 hours.Results:There were no significat differences in vas score between two groups(P0.05),but the number of PCA and side effects in T group were less than those in P group(P0.05).Conclusions:Tramadol is characterized by having more potent analgesic effect and fewer side effects in postoperative analgesia.
