On the analysis of the traffic road safety conditions

The present paper aims to introduce the relation between traffic accidents and the road safety conditions. As is known,there exist so large numbers of traffic accidents that the road accident-occurring rate make both China and the other industrial countries an essential part of economic and human resources loss. However,complicated the problem is,the traffic accident rate can be analyzed from such factors as the safety of road surface,the safety of highway geometry,the safety of road transects,the safety of the road intersections,the lighting situation of the road,etc. On the other hand,the relation between the traffic accident numbers and the road safety conditions may also mislead people to draw a wrong conclusion. As a result,the present paper intends to prove that behind the innumerable traffic accidents,there may lie an inherent relationship between traffic accidents and the road conditions. However it is likely for people to ignore such a relationship,because in most cases,when traffic accidents are analyzed,most people would complain the vehicle drivers,believing that the direct cause leading to the traffic accident is the driver's driving behavior. In this way,people are likely to have a new evaluation method instead of seeking the reason from the safety of road conditions. Nevertheless,traffic accident data obtained in the past years fail to prove the inherent relationship between traffic accident and the road conditions. This problem needs to be improved as soon as possible in a country with huge number of traffic accidents like in China.
