Case-Control Study on Influence Factors of HIV Voluntary Counseling and Testing among Female Sex Workers

[Objective] To explore the way of enhancing proportion of accepting voluntary counseling and testing(VCT).[Methods] A category matching case-control study was conducted on influence factors of HIV voluntary counseling and testing among female sex workers in 2007 in Zhongshan city.[Results] The female sex workers who had knowledge about AIDS were easier to accept VCT(OR was 6.85,7.75,respectively;95%CIwas 1.61～30.98,2.68～22.96,respectively);lack of VCT made against accepting VCT among female sex workers(OR=0.26,95%CI was 0.06～0.99);nor was the late report of HIV testing(OR=0.17,95% CIwas 0.03～0.81);companion driving was beneficial to accepting VCT VCT(OR=8.76,95%CIwas 2.53～31.08).[Conclusion]It is most important to propagandize the knowledge of AIDS and VCT to enhance the proportion of accepting VCT among female sex workers,and the education from accompaniers could make it easy.More VCT and speedier report of HIV testing are necessary for VCT servings.
