Abstract
A kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace copper(Ⅱ) was established. It was based on the fact that Cu(Ⅱ) can catalyze the discoloring reaction of neutral red(NR) by hydrogen peroxide(H 2O 2) in NH 3·H 2O-HN 4Cl medium(pH=8.1).The optimum reaction conditions, kinetic parameters and the kinetic reaction mechanism were investigated. The linear range of copper is in the range of 0-2.9μg/25mL and the detection limit is 5.2×10 -10 g/mL.This method was applied to the determination of Cu(Ⅱ) in biological samples with satisfactory results.
