Abstract

The effects of drought stress on the growth and physiological indexes of three petter genotypes(zunjiao2,8093 and 89)were investigated using potted seedlings in the present work with different drought resistance in the present study. The results showed that the height, stem diameter and relative water content decreased with the deterioration of water status, conversely, the contents of soluble sugar, free proline and chlorophyll, and cell membrane permeability went up.Under severe drought stress, the high drought-resistant line demonstrated the highest ratio of height to stem diameter.Rather, its contents of relative water, soluble sugar, free proline and chlorophyll showed a positive tendency toward drougt stress among the tested linels.
