Abstract
In spite of the influences from the thought of the newly rising citizens,the novels in mid-and-late Ming Dynasty still takes on a righteous mentality of scholars,which is expressed in such aspects as strong moralization and the publicizing of enterprising spirit.The causes for this mentality lies in the salvation spirit of Confucianism,the pursuit of immortal value and the scholars’ subjective desire for promoting the position of novels.
