Follow-up study of low-doses inhaled corticosteroids combined with doxofylline on treatment of bronchial asthma in children

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of low-doses inhaled corticosteroids(ICS)combined with doxofylline on treatment of bronchial asthma in children.Methods One hundred and sixty cases of children aged 6to 14years with non-acute mild to moderate bronchial asthma were randomly distributed into two groups.Treatment group(80patients)was treated with low-doses ICS combined with doxofylline and Control group(80patients)was treated with low-doses ICS.The clinical efficacy and lung function changes were assessed after management.The safety was evaluated by recording adverse events.Results 70patients were followed up in Treatment group,64patients were followed up in control group.The total controlled rates of treatment group was 94.3%and that of controlled group was 75%.There was a significant difference between the groups(P0.05).The improvement of pulmonary function after management in treatment group was more well than that of control group(P0.05).No serious adverse events happened in two groups.Conclusion The low-doses ICS combined with doxofylline is of well efficacy and safety for children with bronchial asthma,should be widely applied to asthma in children.
