Abstract
Based on the analysis of tidal regime around the Yellow River delta and nearby water, this study extracted many coastal-zone basic elements including the high water line, coastline and low water line. The extraction of the high water line and coastline directly used a very simple method,i. e. visual interpretation method. However,in the extraction of low water line, the assay introduced the RS depth theory and built a waterdepth model, combined with the information of the local tides,tide-level and the DEM data and finally completed the extraction of the coastal zone in the Yellow River delta economic area. The result shows that the low water line, which is inverted by the Depth-RS Model, exists some errors, while,it does not affect further study. Instead of,this method is faster and more simpler comparing with the traditional method.
