Abstract
In order to determine the content of adrenocorticotrophic hormone(ACTH) in the serum of pigs which were infected by porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrone virus(PRRSV) and/or porcine circovirus type 2(PCV-2),sixty-one specimens were collected from the pigs exhibited respiratory symptom around Fuzhou city, and PRRSV,PRRSV variant and/or PCV-2 were detected respectively. And the contents of ACTH in the serums were determined by radioimmunoassay. The results showed that the infection rate of PCV-2 was 72.13%,PRRSV was 39.34%,PRRSV variant was 22.95%.The mixed infection with PRRSV and PCV-2 was 16.39%.The contents of ACTH in the infected pigs were significantly increased compared with that of the control group(P0.01),but the contents of ACTH among the pigs in different infection groups were not significant. The contents of ACTH of the pigs mixed infected with PRRSV and PRRSV variant were 32.20 pg·mL-1.Therefore,the contents of ACTH in the serum of the pigs infected by PRRSV and PCV-2 were elevated significantly, and the stress condition of the infected pigs was increased leading to the immune function reduced.
