Abstract
Qingbaikouan strata are well developed and widespread in south-central Jiangxi. They belong to the Guangxi-Hunan-Jiangxi stratigraphic subregion of the Southeast stratigraphic region. Owing to different development degrees and sedimentary features of the strata in different areas of the stratigraphic subregion,it may be subdivided into two stratigraphic areas: the Xinyu area and Xingguo area. This paper introduces the criteria for this subdivision, difference and relation of the two areas,as well as the characteristics of the lithostratigraphic units and their classification and correlation in different stratigraphic areas. In addition, abundant data of microfossil plants are supplimented. Finally the paper analyzes the sedimentary paleoenvironments in different periods and regularity of facies changes in the area.
