A Preliminary Study of the Administrative System in Northeast China during the First Half of the Qing Dynasty

The administration of northeast China by the Qing Imperial Court is clearly different from that of the interior and other border areas of China,because politically this area is the birthplace of the Qing Dynasty,economically the homeland of Manchurian aristocrats,and the cultural base of the Manchurian tradition as well as its border stronghold.The poly-administration was performed mainly by the system of Baqi and partly by the mixed administrative system such as castellan.
